‘I have been visiting Lucy on a Saturday morning on and off for about a year. I have wanted to have ago at “Art” all my Adult life but I struggled to find the time or someone who I was comfortable with. I did not want to go to normal group lessons as I am very reserved and self critical of what I produce, I also cannot make every week because of work and family pressures, so I was delighted to find Lucy. I have found Lucy very patient and encouraging, she manages to help me see my own mistakes without criticism. Lucy clearly has talent herself and technical knowledge, she has helped me in different mediums including inks, watercolour and oil and I have just started on a piece in Acrylic paint. Lucy has provided most of the materials used so this has enabled me to try different mediums I may not have otherwise. Lucy has encouraged me to find my own style without imposing her own which I really appreciate. I feel my skills and confidence in what I produce have improved significantly under her tuition. I thoroughly enjoy the time I spend with Lucy and would not hesitate to recommend her teaching skills to anyone and of any age.’ Lorraine, 53

‘My 11 year old daughter Caitlin has been taking art lessons with Lucy for the past two years. Throughout this time she has had the opportunity to explore many different mediums and styles of art and she has produced some outstanding pieces of artwork, whilst learning about art history. Caitlin has also been encouraged to develop her own style, with Lucy on hand to offer support and advice when needed. This in turn has helped to develop her technique as well as her confidence. As an accomplished artist herself, Lucy can cater for all levels, so whether you are already an artist looking for some expert guidance or if you are simply looking to take up a new hobby, I would have no hesitation in recommending Lucy as an excellent tutor.’ Lisa

‘My son made really good progress with his drawing. Lucy made him feel comfortable, but also pushed him forwards. I would highly recommend Lucy Basley as an art tutor.’ Clare
