About

I am a Norfolk based artist and art tutor living near the Broads outside of Norwich.

Drawing has been a passion of mine since early childhood I always had a little sketchbook with me when I was out and about.

Pattern in many shapes and forms in particular has always been a draw to me, hence I went on to train as a printed textile designer at Winchester school of Art going on to work freelance.

Textiles have continued to be a recurring element in my work. I use pattern for inspiration taken from all around me i.e the natural world, architecture to everyday familiar objects. My influences come from an eclectic mix of artists from Matisse, John Piper, Giacometti, Mary Feddon, Van Gogh, David Hockney, Gustav Klimt and Escher plus many more.

I have taken on many varied commissions from garden design illustration, landscape, abstract work, portraiture, murals and still lives.

For my still life work I bring together pattern and textures of simple objects, often floral creating sumptuous colour combinations and rhythms. I have undertaken commissions, of individuals favourite things that hold special (often childhood) memories to them, that they can then enjoy in a timeless piece of artwork.

I consider myself very fortunate to be able to immerse myself in creativity and I hope you enjoy what I have produced.
